How it Works
Sellers may market cattle through the Bid the Grid option. Bidders will bid on the base price for the weekly grid. Premiums and discounts are applied once the cattle are harvested, weighed, and graded.
Packer Participation
National and regional packers participate in the Fed Cattle Exchange. The Central Stockyards team works directly with packers to encourage participation in weekly sales.
usda reporting
The USDA reports all premiums and discounts for the previous week. This grid is used as the baseline for the Bid the Grid program.
